Derby County chairman resigns over Steve McClaren hiring
Derby County chairman Mel Morris has resigned his position at board level over the embarrassment of having hired Steve McClaren twice.
He told friends, “I just can’t face walking back in that room and being laughed at. What was I on when I appointed him the first time?! Let alone the second time! I don’t know what the hell I was thinking.”
It is said he is going to take a long holiday somewhere where they don’t have the internet or play football and take a long hard look in the mirror. Morris’ wife is apparently concerned that if he stayed in the country, he might turn to the bottle in order to escape feeling like such a prat every day.
